Built for useful context

A calculator, not a rate card.

  • Creator newsletters: turn a platform-economics article into an immediate reality check.
  • Education sites: teach the difference between attention, revenue, costs, and labour.
  • Communities: give members a private tool without collecting their business data.
  • Publishers: add an interactive utility to reporting about the creator economy.

Private live preview

Blank until you choose to load it.

Loading the preview opens the same browser-only calculator your readers receive. It starts with no creator values and does not prefill a result.

Copy. Paste. Preview.

  1. 1. Copy the complete block.
It includes the iframe, visible attribution, and an origin-checked resize helper.
  2. 2. Paste it into an HTML or custom-code block.
Place it beside editorial context that explains why the calculation matters.
  3. 3. Preview before publishing.
Confirm that the calculator opens blank, the attribution remains visible, and your page permits iframes.

If your system removes the resize script, keep the iframe and attribution. The calculator remains usable at its default height; your editor may let you adjust that height manually.

The privacy contract

The host gets a height. Not a creator’s books.

Calculation happens in the embedded visitor’s browser. Raw views, platform payouts, commercial fees, costs, hours, personal targets, and calculated results are not submitted to Vistafolk, placed in the URL, attached to analytics, or posted to the host window.

Vistafolk measures categorical actions such as an attributed embed visit or a completed calculation. The host site may operate its own page analytics, and the browser may provide the ordinary referring origin, but the embed does not provide the host with the creator’s financial inputs or outputs.

The editorial contract

Use it as evidence, not a promise.

The calculator describes one period using numbers supplied by the creator. It does not determine a fair market rate, predict a platform payment, calculate tax, value usage rights, or promise future income.

You may frame it with your own reporting, teaching, or community guidance. Keep the attribution visible, do not prefill a supposedly representative result, and do not present Vistafolk as endorsing your article, publication, community, or commercial offer.

For compatible publishing systems

oEmbed discovery is included.

The calculator page advertises a JSON oEmbed profile in its document head. A compatible CMS or editor can request a rich embed representation instead of asking you to paste the full HTML block. Support depends on the publishing system, so the copy-ready iframe remains the universal option.

The endpoint follows the oEmbed 1.0 JSON response shape, validates that the requested resource is the public Vistafolk calculator, respects positive maximum width and height values, and returns errors for unsupported resources or response formats.

Publisher FAQ

Embedding the creator earnings calculator

Does the embedded calculator send creator earnings to Vistafolk or the host site?

No. Views, payouts, commercial fees, costs, hours, targets, and calculated results stay inside the visitor’s browser. The embedded frame sends only its height to the host page so the layout can resize.

Can I remove the Vistafolk attribution?

No. The free embed requires the visible “Creator Earnings Calculator by Vistafolk” link to remain intact. You may place the tool in your own editorial layout without implying that Vistafolk endorses your publication.

Does the calculator recommend creator rates or predict platform payouts?

No. It records the economics of one creator-entered period. It does not supply a market benchmark, recommended fee, tax result, or future payout estimate.

What happens if my publishing system removes scripts?

The iframe still works at its default height. The small resize script is optional and only improves the fit after a visitor calculates a result. Systems that support oEmbed discovery may use the JSON endpoint instead.
